Take a well known ‘fast food’ and comfort food duo, team it with sharp vintage cheddar and the optional tangy pickle and you have a winning zero-waste leftover combo. Go on, try it!

A jaffle is a flavor bomb capsule. Encasing your leftovers with oozy cheese or vivacious vegan cheese.

Provisions Guide

For one

  • 2 slices of square bread of you liking

  • Leftover gravy

  • Leftover roast potato

  • Sharp vintage cheddar or dairy-free alternative

  • Gherkins, pickles or something tangy

  • Butter

Preparation

  1. Mix gravy and potato

  2. Butter bread on both sides and make a layered sandwich with sliced cheese, gherkins sliced length-ways and potato and gravy mix

  3. Pop in a heated jaffle iron, sandwich maker or fry pan (flip after brown on one side)

  4. Enjoy the surprisingly moreish morsel and don’t share!
